A new challenge organized by Lisa Lodge from  A Grateful Artist - Pine Ridge Treasures. The theme: French Countryside which was quite appropriate as I am in Normandy, well I was, I am now back in Paris where my internet access is more reliable.
Of course I didn't take any pictures of the beads Lisa sent before. The colors reminded me more of Provence.
I started weaving a freeform bracelet. In the middle of my project, the focal bead broke. I started again and as I was almost finished the focal bead, another one, broke. I won't try a third time, for now. So, here is what is left of it with thread in place of the bead.

I couldn't leave it to that so I tried a quick pair of earrings.

  2. So sorry about your bad luck with the focals! I've had my share of bad luck with glass beads, and ceramic, too. I do love those earrings, and the bracelet design has lots of potential!

  3. I love all the colors and textures in the bracelet. I wish the focal hadn't broken (twice)! I really love your freeform bead weaving. The earrings are great. Love the flirty little birds flying by.

  5. Hi Karin your bracelet would have been lovely when finished. Maybe you can find a different focal. I had one of the flat black pieces in my bracelet break also, but I was able to replace it. Your earrings are wonderful.
