Internet

On most of the American blogs I follow, there's a lot of talk about Bead Fest in Philadelphia. A place only for beads, that's like a library, I could not resist!
Luckily for my bank account, this does not exist in France.
But don't worry, I know now where to find beads. There are a few shops where I live and there is the Internet.
For now, I can only find art beads on the Internet.
The very first  shop where I bought some art beads was Ornamentea, where besides tools and materials I could not find in France yet, I discovered Elaine Ray's ceramic beads.
Then I discovered Etsy.
Back to Elaine Ray. One of the first beads from her I got ( about 5 years ago) was a pendant representing a woman. Since then, I've looked at it and thought it was beautiful but didn't know what to do.
Today, I decided I should be brave and deal with it, so I tried to keep it simple (which is not always easy) for a multistrand necklace of glass beads, Japanese seed beads and poppy jasper beads strung on waxed linen.

  2. Beautiful and elegant design, Karin... and I agree it is sometimes difficult to keep it simple, and allow the focal to have the glory, but you have achieved the right balance!
