Back from holidays, I started thinking about the inspiration painting from the Art Bead Scene monthly challenge.
Here it is:

The Indian Rug (or Red Slippers), 1942
by Anne Redpath
Oil on plywood
73.90 x 96.10 cm (framed: 91.50 x 113.50 x 6.20 cm)

I like the bright red patch, the arabesques, and the blue/green/grey background. I also like the textile aspect of the painting. Next step, how to put all this into jewelry.
First I chose a Round Rabbit ceramic pendant and a piece of thick leather cord, that would do for the colors and the arabesques. I tried to give some textile aspect with linen cord, the pieces of recycled Sari Silk and the bead woven tube.
Here is the result:

  6. This is such a fun pendant. You really created it as your own with the addition of the linen and the beads. And that little unexpected twist...that beaded bead. Perfect! Thanks for joining us at the Art Bead Scene! Enjoy the day. Erin
