Broderie / Embroidery

In this month's Curious Bead Shop kit, there were among other things, a nest and a branch.  Although lovely, I had no clue as to how to use them, I tried to wire wrap, to string, to knot, but nothing was satisfying.
And yet I had this picture of a forest, the nest, a bird, in green with hints of purple.
Some time ago, I had cut out the shape for an embroidered necklace, I know, you shouldn't cut it out before, but well, I wasn't going to throw it away so, I decided to try my first totally embroidered necklace.
I made a lot of mistakes, noted quite a few dos and don'ts but here it is.
It took me the week to make it and I really enjoyed the process, I think I will do that again soon.

  2. Awesome!! This is a great first bead embroidered piece. Bead embroidery is one of my favorite ways to play with beads.
