During the holidays I discovered the Create with cabochons challenge hosted by Sally Russick. I discovered it on the last day I could put my name on, and I didn't think too much. Cabochons, I love them!
A month later, back to my cabs, I didn't know what to do anymore. Too much choice.
I was tempted to try something new like, making my own polymer clay cabochon or wirework to bezel stones.
In the end, I was not very brave and stayed in my field, embroidery and weaving.
But I chose cabochons that I really didn't know what to do with, to have to get out of my comfort zone.
The first one is a tainted druzy agate, on backing then bezeled and embellished with fringe, then I weaved a spiral rope and toggle clasp.
The second one is a round Vallauris ceramic cabochons that I bezeled without backing in peyote stitch.
I added some flowery fringe and hung it from chain with a Bo Hulley ceramic clasp.

What I love most about your pieces are the fabulous colors! Your bead weaving is exceptional - a talent that I just do not possess! Beautiful!
RépondreSupprimerThey are beautiful and unique pieces!
RépondreSupprimerTrès joli collier! (Hopefully I wrote that correctly. I won't attempt any more French though.)
RépondreSupprimerThis must have taken you so much time (and patience)! Lovely.
Karin, les deux colliers sont magnifiques. Je ne sais pas mon préferé.
RépondreSupprimerLike Patti said, your bead weaving is amazing and your necklaces are so pretty!
RépondreSupprimerI love the piece with the flowers!
RépondreSupprimerYour bead work is amazing. I love them both, but the colors of the first one are so wonderful - the necklace looks like fresh, juicy berries.
RépondreSupprimerYour beadwork is so precise!
RépondreSupprimerThe first necklace is so beautiful and with autumn approaching, I'm really drawn to it. I think your second necklace with the delicate colors of new foliage is ideal for spring.
Both necklaces are beautiful and unusual. I like the beaded clasps. I want to try that next.
RépondreSupprimersuch striking work! that first cab - the colors ... WOW!
RépondreSupprimerBeautiful necklaces, your bezeling and beadwork are striking and I love your colour choices.
RépondreSupprimerWhat beautiful work you do. Amazing!
RépondreSupprimerGorgeous pieces I love how you drew the color of the druzy out with the bronze colored seed beads in your first piece. The simplicity of the beaded bezelon the second pendant was a perfect design for the clay cab.

I love both of your pieces very much. I love the colors especially how they worked in the spiral rope on the first piece. I love everything about the second piece. It is gorgeous.
RépondreSupprimerI like both of your pieces. Good job.
RépondreSupprimerBoth pieces are stunning. For the first one you made just the perfect chain. It complements the focal and the colors are just wonderful.
RépondreSupprimerI love the druzy necklace! It turned out beautifully! I too love cabs and had a challenge just deciding which ones to use. LOL
RépondreSupprimerI love the green/purple necklace with the dangles. Your design is so whimsical.
