Arbres / Trees

Au début du mois le blog Art Jewelry Element a lancé un défi sur le thème des arbres et je me suis précipitée.  Puis est venue la rentrée, et j'ai oublié. Dimanche, panique.
J'ai sorti tout ce qui pouvait correspondre au thème. J'ai imaginé du tissage, de la broderie mais évidemment en m'y prenant si tard, impossible à réaliser à temps.
Alors j'ai choisi un pendentif de Blueberribeads qui me fait penser à une forêt enchantée. J'ai pensé tissage free form, mais là encore manque de temps. J'ai pioché dans mes perles recyclées d'Emmaüs, choisi du bois, du cuir, des graines, du lin,  quelques perles indonésiennes pour accompagner mon pendentif.
Et un oiseau de Lorna Johnston et une minuscule feuille de Starry Road Studio.

At the beginning of the month, the Art Jewelry Element blog invited us to a tree-themed challenge and I was immediately in. Then school started and I forgot about it. Sunday I remembered, I panicked.
I took out everything that suited the theme. I imagined embroidery, weaving but obviously I had not enough time left.
So I chose a Blueberribeads pendant that makes me think of an enchanted forrest and I thought free-form peyote but then again no time.
I took out recycled  wood beads from the thrift store, leather, linen, seeds, some Indonesian beads to accompany my pendant.
And a Lorna Johnston bird bead and a tiny Starry Road Studio ceramic leaf.

Et puis, quelques feuilles plus tard des boucles d'oreilles aux couleurs du passage à l'automne.

Then some leaves later I had a pair of earrings in colors of coming fall.

AJE Challenge

C'est la rentrée et je me remet doucement en condition, cours et perles. Je vous passerai les détails des cours. En ce qui concerne les perles, je vais reprendre avec le défi mensuel de Art Jewelry Element, cette fois-ci, les tiges et clous d'artisan. J'ai tout d'abord, recherché tout ce que j'avais, et il y en a beaucoup. En voici un aperçu.

It's time for me to prepare  to go back to school, start another year and I've been preparing for a while. I won't talk about my real life job preparations, but about starting a new bead year and to do so I chose the Art Jewelry Element monthly challenge, this time focusing on head pins.
The first thing I did, of course was to look for all the ones I had, which is quite a lot.
Here is a view of my collection.

Il y a de tout, verre, céramique, pâte polymère, métal, de tous mes artistes préférés.

Il a fallu que je fasse un choix.

Tout d'abord une paire de Something to do Beads pour faire le pendentif d'un collier.

There is a little bit of everything, ceramic, polymer, metal, glass from my favorite artists.

I had to make a choice.

I was drawn to headpins from Something to do Beads to make the focal element of a necklace.

Puis j'ai choisi des tiges en verre coloré de Samantha Capeling associées à des connecteurs et des perles en céramique de Happy Fish ainsi que des petites perles en verre de Uglibeads  pour des boucles d'oreilles joyeuses.

Then I chose some colorful glass headpins from Samantha Capeling which I associated to ceramic connectors and beads from Happy Fish and tiny glass beads from Uglibeads to make some fun earrings.

Je me suis arrêtée là pour aujourd'hui.

Allons maintenant  rendre visite à toutes les autres participantes pour admirer leurs créations.

AJE Component of the Month / Composant du mois

Voilà, nous sommes rentrés de Londres et je vais tout doucement revenir par ici.

Et je commence par le composant du mois sur Art Jewelry Elements. J'ai à nouveau eu la chance d'être tirée au sort pour recevoir ce composant. Ce mois-ci, il s'agissait un coeur de Rebekah Payne de Tree Wings Studio.

Evidemment j'ai emprunté la photo, je ne sais pas si un jour je réussirai à prendre une photo, avant.

J'ai choisi un coeur grisé comme du bois flotté.

So, we're back from our week in London and I'm slowly coming back over here.

I will start with the Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month. I was lucky again to be picked up as a guest participant to it. This month, it was heart by Rebekah Payne of Tree Wings Studio.

Of course, I had to borrow a picture from the blog. I don't know if I will ever remember to take a picture, before.

I chose a grey drift wood heart.

Dés mon retour, je m'y suis attelée. 

J'ai tout de suite décidé de faire un bracelet et j'ai imaginé quelque chose d'un peu rustique, avec des objets trouvés comme après une promenade sur la plage.

Mais ce n'est pas du tout ce qui s'est passé. En cherchant les perles, j'ai croisé les rocailles et me suis dit pourquoi pas un peu de free form peyote, ma nouvelle marotte?

j'ai cherché des couleurs naturelles, mattes, neutres.

Et j'ai choisi le contraste, noir et crystal Swarovski.

As soon as we came back I started on it.

I immediately decided it was going to be a bracelet and imagined something a little rustic, with found objects as if coming back from a walk on the beach.

But this is not what happened.

While looking for beads, my seed beads crossed my way and I thought why not a little experiment in free form peyote again?

I looked for some natural, matte, neutral colors.

And chose contrast, black and Swarovski crystal.

Et maintenant, allons voir toutes les autres créations.

Now, it's time to go see all the other creations.

Lièvres de mars / March Hares Reveal

Pour le mois de mars, Art Jewelry Elements proposait de créer sur le thème du lièvre, et tous les membres ont créé des composants sur ce  thème que vous pouvez voir ici. J''en ai acheté quelques uns et j'ai choisi un lièvre regardant la lune de THEA Elements.
Ce ne sont pas vraiment mes couleurs habituelles mais il m'a tout de suite attirée et je le trouvais mystérieux.
J'ai imaginé toutes sortes de montages et finalement c'est le free form peyote qui s'est imposé.
J'ai ajouté un cabochon visage de Earthenwood Studio et un bouton lune de Green Girl studios.
Je me suis beaucoup amusée à mélanger librement tous les éléments pour ce défi.
Vous verrez mes autres perles lièvres plus tard…

For March Art Jewelry Elements created a hare themed challenge and all the members created components inspired by hares. You can see them here. I ordered some and chose to participate with a hare watching the moon pendant from THEA Elements.
The colors are not the ones I would usually choose but I was immediately attracted to it and I found the pendant quite mysterious.
I imagined all sorts of designs for it and finally chose free form peyote. It seemed the right choice to me.
I added a face cabochon from Earthenwood Studio and a moon button from Green Girl studios.
I had a lot of fun playing so freely with all the components for this challenge.
