I let January pass but here I am again for the Art Bead Scene monthly challenge.
Here is February's inspiration:

Amapolas, 1913
Illustration published in "News of Spring and Other Nature Studies

Watercolor, 208 by 124mm

I wished I had poppies and surprisingly I don't. Surprisingly, because in French Coquelicot  is poppy.
But I thought the colors of this ceramic pendant by Suburban Girl Studio would be a good starting point.
Then I tried to make something that would give the feeling of the delicate flowers and I chose some recycled sari silk.
I find it quite difficult to work with fabric so I couldn't help adding some metal and stones to give some weight.
And I had to do and undo until I found a satisfying arrangement.

  8. Congratulations on taking the plunge and working with the sari silk. Using fabric in my designs is still a bit of a barrier for me. I'm impressed you succeeded, and with such a colourful necklace
